C.S. Lewis is best known for his children's books, especially Narnia series. When he began to write the Narnia books Lewis was already an accomplished author and friends argued against a trying children's books because they feared it would damage his reputation as an author of serious philosophy and apologetics. That didn't turn out to be the case.
