56% Say that God Controls Everything that Happens Jul 22nd 2011, 08:00 Americans tend to believe that everything which happens is ultimately under God's control and therefore whatever happens must happen according to some divine plan of God's. According to a 2011 poll, 35% of Americans completely agreed and 21% mostly agreed that God controls everything. Only 34% disagreed at all.
